Here are 5 tips to keep your do still looking fabulous into the wee hours of the night …

1. Build a foundation with the right hair products.
   If your hair frizzes the moment you step outside, make sure you’re using the right products … and more importantly the right amount of products. Remember, sometimes less is more.
   
   Girls with finer hair, mousse is going to be your best friend. One I’ve used is “Tigi Extra Strong Mousse.” This is prevent your style to fall flat. Run about 2-3 golf ball sizes through your hair after shampoo. 

   
   Girls with thicker curler hair, Pureology Anti-Split Blow Dry Cream will help give your hair more weight      so that it won’t frizz into a cute afro by ceromony time. Apply this after shampoo, before blowing-out. About 6-10 pumps depending on hair thickness and length. This is one of those products where less is actually more. Use too much of this, then your hair will be weighed down too much and drying will be difficult. Not to mention the waxy feeling afterwards.

2. Blow dry in the direction that your hair grows.
   If your stylist requires your hair to be dry prior, don’t just aim the blow dryer at every which way until your hair is dry. Dry your hair in the direction your hair grows. By doing so, you’re laying the hair cuticle flat which will make your hair smoother and less frizzy. When you blow dry it against the way your hair grows, the heat from the dryer with lift your cuticle, thus resulting in that frizzy hair we all love to hate. 

3. Timing is everything.
   I’ve been in the wedding industry long enough to know that not everything goes as planned on the big day. And there are always exceptions.  But, when planning what time your hair stylist and make up artist will arrive is very important. Make sure all your vendors (coordinator, photographer, stylist, make up artist, etc.) know the updated itinerary for the big day! If your ceremony does not start until 4pm, there is no reason why your hair should be done at 8am. Plan for your stylist to be there closer to the time of the ceremony or pictures. Book with your stylist in advance! 

4. Finishing products seal the deal.
   Picking the right finishing products is key. I use a couple, but one good finishing product to pack in your bride bag would be:
   “It’s a 10 Miracle Shine Spray” is one of those products where again, less is more. Just 1 spray to lay down the fly-aways. Keep this product handy through-out the day to give your hair that extra shine. 

   “Pureology Strengthing Control Hair Spray” is one of my favorite hair sprays. I can’t stress this enough, but after your style is complete … do not continue to spray more and more hair spray in it. 2 things can happen, and both are not pleasant. Scenario #1. Your hair becomes rock hard (aka helmet head) and not to mention crunchy. Scenario #2. When there’s too much product in your hair and you add humidity into the mix … the outcome is waxy gunk underneath your veil.

5. Keep fingers out of your hair.
   I know there’s a tendency of wanting to touch/run your fingers through your hair because it looks so pretty. Don’t! There’s a reason why you can’t touch certain artworks at museums … same concept for your hair. Your fingers will make your do more greasy which will lead to it eventually falling apart.
